The salient points in a text are organized in its index, drawing the reader into the subject, inviting further reading. The skill of indexing is an ability to analyze, prioritize, synthesize, and localize the concepts in a text. I prepare back-of-the-book indexes for scholarly and trade publications. My areas of specialization include history, biographies, music, and art.
